I am so excited to be back in my "home" school of Perry elementary! As a graduate of the Perry Public Schools, I am looking forward to being a part of our incredible school system once again! Before coming to Perry elementary, I worked as an elementary music teacher in the Hartland school district for 9 years. I completed my undergraduate degree in K-12 Music Education at Michigan State University (Go MSU!). After graduating, I continued my schooling and earned my certifications in Early Childhood Music (Level 1) and Elementary General Music (Level 1) from the Gordon Institute for Music Learning (GIML). I also completed my Masters in Reading degree from Spring Arbor as a K-12 reading specialist.
When I am not teaching at Perry I love to spend lots of time with my beautiful family. My wife and I enjoy our time with our family of six children. Our life is full and wonderful (and a little crazy, now that we are "outnumbered!"), and we wouldn't trade it for anything. I like to spend my free time enjoying my family, playing the piano, working in my vegetable and flower gardens, playing board games, and spending time with my church family.
I look forward to working with all of the students here at Perry, and will be excited to watch them as they grow in their musicianship! I would like to thank all of the parents who will be "sharing" your children with all of us here at Perry Elementary, and in the Perry Public School District! Perry is truly a wonderful place to teach and to learn!
